Maison Ponthier's yellow lemon puree, obtained by extracting the juice and expelling the fibers, is distinguished by the high quality of the selected Sicilian lemon. A volcanic land surrounded by mountains, Sicily has a very fertile land for growing citrus fruits. The mountains of the island are mainly composed of tertiary lands, known as “Trubi” or “white marl” lands, rich in limestone, fine yellow sands and minerals. These draining soils are the ideal base for citrus groves. Furthermore, the mountains are very rich in small streams which regularly feed the soil.
The island's permanent natural exposure to the sun, essential for the good development of citrus fruits, also contributes to the high quality of Sicilian fruits.
