Mont d'Or, also called "Vacherin", owes its name to the highest mountain in the Doubs.
This seasonal mountain cheese is made from raw milk at altitudes above 700 meters, between August 15th and March 15th, outside of grazing season. Presented in its spruce box, its pleated rind evokes the landscapes of its origins.
