Mont d'Or, also called "Vacherin," owes its name to the highest mountain in the Doubs region. This seasonal mountain cheese is produced exclusively between 700 meters above sea level, from August 15 to March 15, outside the herd grazing season. Matured for at least 21 days on spruce boards, it develops its distinct and unique flavor. Its rind, pleated like the mountains of origin, rests in a spruce box. Its creamy, melting texture is best enjoyed with a teaspoon. The cheese weighs approximately 1 kg, including the box.

This Mont d'Or is a must-try in the colder months, ideal for adding to a cheese platter or preparing the famous "hot box." Baked with a dash of white wine and a touch of garlic, it becomes a warming and refined dish, often accompanied by potatoes and a fresh salad. To enhance this experience, we recommend a white wine from Arbois.
