Created in the 10th century by a monk from the Abbey of Maroilles, this cheese is made in Thiérache, an Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée zone, straddling the departments of Nord and Aisne. It is considered the king of northern cheeses, and presented as the finest strong cheese.

The production of Maroilles takes place in a humid cellar, where it is matured for 3 to 5 weeks depending on the format, during which it is brushed and washed with salt water. This is an important operation which will condition the quality of the cheese and give it its magnificent natural orange color, its original flavor and its specific aromas.

The Maroilles has a square shape with a side of 13 cm and a thickness of 6 cm. It is a raw cow's milk cheese with a soft, washed rind.

All our fresh products are sent in specially designed insulated packages including cooling gels allowing them to be kept cool throughout the journey.
