The Grand Blanc Extra-Brut 2014, blended only from Chardonnay, is an exception in the Philipponnat range, which has made Pinot Noir its signature. A unique opportunity to discover a variation of the House's style in the form of a great Blanc de Blancs.

The year 2014 is characterized by mild temperatures and frequent rains. Warm weather sets in at the beginning of April and will advance the vine's growing cycle by 10 days. Full flowering begins in June. The summer will be dotted with dry, wet and cool episodes. Chardonnays combine notes of white flowers and citrus fruits, their mouth is full and tangy.

This cuvée is made from Chardonnays coming only from the Premiers and Grands Crus terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.

The wines are vinified partly in stainless steel vats, with partial malolactic fermentation, and partly in wood, without malolactic. The Extra-Brut dosage at 4.25 g/L preserves the purity and nobility of its origin.

The vintage spent 6 to 8 years in the House's cellars in order to develop its aromas and highlight the secondary and tertiary aromas, marks of prolonged aging on lees.

This vintage has a light gold color with a fine and creamy foam.

The nose is open and expressive, combining delicate aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits and bergamot.

The palate is fresh and expressive and we find notes of citrus and exotic notes of passion fruit. The finish is mineral and very elegant.

The Grand Blanc 2011 Extra-Brut from Maison Philipponnat is a champagne that can be served as an aperitif at 7°C, but also at the table at 10°C to accompany white fish or shellfish.
